UNESCO, in partnership with ALT Advisory, the Media Leadership Think Tank at GIBS, and the M20 Secretariat, is developing Guidance on Fair Compensation for News to support Member States and other stakeholders to design, implement and sustain arrangements that secure fair compensation for news content used by digital platforms and artificial intelligence (AI) actors.
Details
This survey aims to record stakeholder inputs on the draft Guidance, which can be accessed in English, French, and Spanish, and perspectives on how the Guidance document can be improved to achieve the aim of safeguarding freedom of expression, strengthening media viability, and supporting the future of independent journalism in the context of growing digital platforms and AI actors.
Inputs will be analysed in English, French, and Spanish alongside contributions from open consultations, virtual roundtables and written submissions, and will inform the subsequent draft. The survey takes approximately 20–25 minutes to complete.
